This shows you the current view of the Grote Markt from within the Stadhuis (City Hall), looking East.
On the far right you can see the
Grote or Sint Bavo Kerk
finished in 1515.
Also to the right is the Grote Houtstraat, the main street in the city centre.
On the left, through the trees, you can see the Brinkman Passage, which houses the
Brinkmann Bioscoop
,
as well as the departments of Haarlem's municipal sector Stedelijke Ontwikkeling.
In the background you can just make out a
statue of
Laurens Janszoon Coster, circa 1370 - 1440,
who may have discovered book printing years before Gutenberg did.
